How much does a session cost?
The initial session provides an opportunity to discuss cost, agreeable to you and your director.
Is this a Christian service?
Although Lethbridge spiritual directors are all Christians at this time, our training encourages listening across traditions. Major religions and practices including atheism encourage spiritual director training. We are open to hearing your story. The first session (no cost) is to get acquainted and see whether the “fit” is good.
How long do I sign up for?
Spiritual direction may be a one-time event, carry on for several months or be a part of your life from now on. How long you continue is up to you. One hour per month is suggested. Your spiritual director will let you know if she or he has to close the relationship and will initiate a final session if need be. You can do the same.
Is this a form of counseling?
No. A spiritual director makes suggestions regarding prayer life, but will not advise to solve life problems. The two services are compatible.
Where are you located?
We are located in Lethbridge, Alberta (Canada), a city near the border with Montana, USA and about a 1 1/2 hours’ drive east of the Rocky Mountains.
We meet at the Martha Retreat Centre in Lethbridge or in our homes/offices. During the pandemic, spiritual direction is also available by phone or virtually.
